Do you offer free smoke detectors? 

Yes. The Spanish Lake Fire Protection District has partnered with the American Red Cross in a program that allows us to come to your home and install up to three (3) smoke detectors per home as long as you live in the Spanish Lake Fire Protection District. Please call 314-741-7300 to schedule. 

Do you offer free carbon monoxide detectors? 

No. The Spanish Lake Fire protection District does not currently have a program for carbon monxide detectors. Detectors can be purched at your local hardwear store. 

Do you offer free car seats? 

Spanish Lake Fire Protection District has partnered with Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in a grant funded program through MODOT that may provide one child safety seat per safety seat lifetime of a child at no cost to you. To see if you are eligable for this program, please call Cardinal Glennon at  314-268-2700 as all seat approvals must go through them. 

Do you offer CPR classes? 

No, Spanish Lake Fire Protection District does not offer CPR classes.  Please contact the  American Heart Assoication or visit their website for information on classes near you; https://cpr.heart.org/

How do I get a copy of an incident report? 

In accordance with Missouri State Staues, the Spanish Lake Fire Protection District charges $10.00 for a copy of an incident report. Remittance may be made with a check or money order only (no cash or card accepted). You will need to know that date of the incident as well as the address that it occured at. You can submit payment and obtain a hard copy of the report by coming to 12220 Bellefontaine Road, St. Louis, MO 63138 . If you wish to mail in a check you must include an email address to send the report to as well as the date and location of the incident you are seeking the report for. 

How do I get a Residential Occupancy Permit in Spanish Lake? 

Spanish Lake is located in Unincorporated St. Louis County. Therefore, St. Louis County handels all residental occupancy and permitting.   You can contact them at 314-615-5184 or visit their website for more information; https://stlouiscountymo.gov/st-louis-county-departments/transportation-and-public-works/residential-building/occupancy-permits/.  The Spanish Lake Fire Protection District does not perform residental occupany inspections or grant residential permits. 

Where can I get a burn permit in Spanish Lake? 

Spanish Lake Fire Protection District follows St. Louis County's Burn Ordinance and does not issue burn permits.

What permits do you support? 
  • Commerical building and occupancy.
  • Temporary structure/tent permits. 
Can I visit your firehouse? 

Yes. If you would like to visit our firehouse please call 314-741-7300 to schedule a tour.  

Do you make birthday party and event appearances? 

Yes. If you have an upcoming event that you would like our fire fighters to attend and display our fire truck, please call 314-741-7300 to schedule. Please schedule at least 24 hours in advance. 

*We do not host parties at our firehouse.

*Emergency calls are a priority to our community and may cause us to miss a scheduled event.

How do I become a firefighter? 

To be a firefighter in the Spanish Lake Fire Protection District one must have completed Firefighter I and Firefighter II certifications with the St. Louis Fire Academy, have their National and State Paramedic license, and have a current CPAT certificate. Dose Spanish Lake have volunteer firefighters? 

Spanish Lake Fire Protection District became a fully paid department in the 1980s. We do not have volunteer firefighters.
